I think you can go into your control panel to sounds and audio. then click on hardware,look on that list for your sound card.

Control panel, double click on Sounds and Audio Devices and it should open up a screen that tells you what the card is. Not the other junk you were just told.

Plix open your case and look.
Or, Click on the Apple, select "About my Mac", and then click the button in the about window. This will give you all the system information.
Or, if you have a PC from a manufacturer like HP or Dell, just look on their websites using your serial number.
Or, if you are using Microsoft Windows and already have the drivers installed, look in "System Information".

Download SiSoft Sandra and run a system report. It will tell you exactly what everything is in your computer.
