My ex is being charged with a "felony 1" crime for taking pictures of women in the nude (they didnt know they were being photographed) Just curious what kind of sentencing and the severity of that is. I'm not just being "nosey" He is the biological father of my 2 children and I'm just curious what this means for a custody/visitation standpoint in the future.

Answering your question is a bit difficult as the offense "Felony 1" doesn't relate to which state of jurisdiction is involved. Each state NORMALLY has a "minimum sentencing guideline" for a specific level of the offense for which you refer.

Is the charge of pornography involving any juveniles? If so...the federal courts may become involved which is a serious issue no matter how you look at it!

When dealing with "sentencing guidelines" one has a standard of "severity" of the offense. There are points assessed for about eleven different criteria when the court levies the sentence if found guilty!

MOST investigative agencies aren't concerned with ADULT pornography whereas JUVENILE pornography being a different issue.

I honestly believe your ex's issue is related closer to "pictures of children in the nude" which would certainly prompt a police investigation in a "New York minute" and would be more closely aligned to a Felony 1 offense!

Lastly, offenses are categorized essentially in their order of severity.

Violations, Misdemeanors, and Felony's!

The Misdemeanors and Felony's are further broken down from 3rd, 2nd, and 1st Degree's of a specific offense. The degree of the offenses, in decending order, are the most serious to less serious!

Best wishes!
