After I wash my face, my skin looks really shiny. It makes it look almost oily, but its not because its clean. Does anyone know what I can put on it (not make-up) to make it less shiny?

Dont listen to other people about powder. I have the same problem as you do. I get a shiny face immediately after washing my face. Blot your face with your towel instead of wiping it. Blot/Press your face with a towel or for sanitary reasons, I use paper towels. It soaks up the wetness, and the shine at the same time. By using a paper towel (instead of a regular wash cloth) , your pores are clean everytime, unlike a towel, which you may not wash everyday.

Then do your makeup, powder, and everything else. Also, to make your makeup last longer. Use a makeup setting mist, you can get one at Sephora stores in the "makeup for ever" brand. If someone tells you to use a primer, it contains silicone (dimethicone, cyclomethicone) which will make your face more slippery looking.

Hey, I'm fourteen, too, and I have extremely oily skin. I always get big cysts on my forehead and blackheads on my nose and chin. I buy Pro-active Solutions. It has worked really well for me at keeping the pimples away (except for the ones you get around that time of the month). It comes with a refining mask as well, and if you dab a little bit on your pimple before you go to sleep, it clears it up by morning. I adore Proactive. When you first get it, though, give it some time to work before you conclude that it doesn't. Mine took a few weeks for it to adjust to my skin and start working. But remember, you MUST use ALL the steps TWICE a day. If you don't do it twice a day, all the steps, EVERY DAY, it won't work. Believe me. It's a little expensive, but its definately worth it(:

Find an oil free lotion with a sunscreen in it. I don't know why faces get shiny after being washed, but I know putting lotion on mine helps a lot.

You could be using a facial cleanser that is a little too harsh for your skin which makes it tight so it looks shiny.

Try using a milder facial wash and following it w/ a toner. Then apply oil-free moisturizer w/ spf and powder.

astringent... it would get rid of the oil
and to keep the oil away so foundation that is specifically for oily skin.
it would help if you put a light layer of transulcent pressing powder on before you put foundation. concentrate on the areas that the oil shows up the most.

1. Light moisturizer + some powder afterwards, sorry.
2. Do not use water to clean your face, but lotions.
3. There are special lotions and creams which make the face matte. One of them Avene.

Powder, translucent is the best. It's not really make-up, just gives your face a matte look and there's no colour in it.
