No we don't need our appendix. No it is not getting smaller. No, we will never evolve to the point where we lose our appendix.

Even though the appendix is totally unecessary, it has no effect on human reproductive fitness, and that's what drives evolution. Do people without appendices reproduce more than people with appendices? No. Thus the gene pool remains the same, and the appendix remains the same from generation to generation. You can say the same thing about any of the other vestigial remains associtated with human anatomy.

well there is no definite function medically known for appandix in human ( but in some animals it is known) . for this reason removing it doesen't lead to any serious problem.

No we don't specifically need it.
But it is not getting smalled by the generation.
It remains the way it is.
