i've noticed my feet and legs up to my calves are swollen quite a bit, and kindof in my wrists and fingers, but not so much. my watch is a little tight and normally it's pretty loose.

my feet/legs don't hurt, they aren't red, or hot to the touch, i have no other symptoms, i feel fine, i took my blood pressure the other day and it was normal.

i have red markings from where my flip-flops are, but no other redness or irritation, just really swollen in my feet/legs to the calves.

i started taking duirex water pills yesterday, but no difference in swelling, but i've gone to the bathroom a lot. also, it's not hard for me to urinate.

i don't have any numbing or tingling sensation in my feet, i've tried to look up on google to see what this could be, do any of you have any suggestions? i'm only 21, lol i hope it's nothing too serious.

also, i'm wondering if i can wait it out until my insurance kicks in through work, which isn't going to be until may 5th (just started a new job)

Just press your feet with the tips of your fingers and see whether a depression stays for a few seconds. If yes, it indicates oedema, water retention and diuretics can help.

Have you noticed this problem only recently or does it come with your monthly period (swelling increases before period and goes down afterwards)? If yes, it is water retention caused by hormonal changes.

If the above factors are not the case, and if there is not much pitting on pressing at a spot, it could be fat and that indicates a hypothyroid condition. Are you feeling a little lethargic, cold etc. and appetite is a little less? these symptoms should alert you about a thyroid below par.

I will be able to help you more if you share more information as indicated above. Wishing you the best.

Well, you may not have high blood pressure but you may still be getting to much salt. Also how old are you? This could have something to do with your period.

At any rate swelling in the feet and arms is not a good thing and you need to go and see a doctor so that they can determine the cause.

Good luck, hope everything is OK.

You might be having thyroid issues. Swelling of the lower extremities is common in people with hypo-thyroidism. If the swelling continues, it may not be a good idea for you to wait until May to get checked out.

dont use any extra salt, drink more water and dont let your feet hang for to long.....the water pills will work but they will only mess you up more after you stop taking them............DRINK MORE WATER

Dear, you have edema, i would have your sodium levels, kidney function, and liver checked out.
