Depends upon the destination.

My mother is great, we get a long very well. But in every family trip since I turned 14 she totally drove me up the wall. While she always insisted that we were only doing what was fun for everybody, we always did exactly what she wanted when she wanted it. No matter what we teens wished or asked for. To top it off, there was no way to turn her mind. If it was no, it meant no.

The democracy she touted as to how and where we would spent our holidays was a joke. Which is why I decided to stop going along with my parents (or my mother which is the same) when I turned 18.

If we could ever agree on a destination and travel style we both like, I would love to travel with her again. We are both art freaks and the museums in Rome or Florence are one thing I've been saving for a trip with her.

Until then, I let her roast on her precious beaches in Spain or the Canarian Islands, dining and sleeping in a 4 star hotel while I roam the world away from the beaches with my backpack and stay in hostels.

I'd go...I've actually done that...6 years ago, I went to Arizona with my parents (I was 27 then) and had a great time. Of course, i was also living with my ex and pretty much didn't get to see my family all that much. And two years before that I went to Daytona with just my grandmother. Put it this way, if you're an adult, time is getting short on the amount available to spend with your parents...take advantage of it while you can.

Yes, I'm 39, have a great family, but when my father was living, a couple yrs ago, I went w/ them on a 3 wk trip in a motor home. We had a blast. Enjoy your parents while u have them, I didn't know it would be our last trip, vacation, together. I will always cherish that trip. Spend as much time with ur parents as u can. We r nt promised tomorrow.

Well that really depends on how well you get on with your parents doesn't it?
Lots of adults travel with their parents. My 85 yr old mother travels with us, and our adult children travel with us also and sometimes we all go together.
Remember, your parents won't always be there. Time you loose or pass up can not be gained back.

No, because I would rather they take a vacation by themselves than have me "tag along". I'd go with friends or even by myself.

I find it interesting that, other than me, the ones that say they'd rather go with their friends are guys, probably because women are more likely to take a vacation with their parents than men would.

I would love to go with my parents because I enjoy them and I'm 38 and married but it depends on the kind of relationship you have with them, it's not about age, it's about how you feel. If you don't want to then don't.

Sure as long as we got along, why not? You can always bring along a friend too and have some time on your own?
