The best game is World of Warcraft. You can download free trial off of the internet. It is during medieval times. You create your person then go on quests. The game is online. You gain levels as you gain XP. You also could do things like mine or skin to get money. It is the biggest online game. You can get more info of it on the internet.

Depends on what you are looking for and on what console....
For old school gaming try looking at the Sonic the Headghog Series particularly one, two and three and even Sonic and Knuckles....or even the Mario games like Super Mario World, Super Mario Brothers, Super Mario Brothers Two and Three.
If you like RPG...then probably the Final Fantasy series is the best...the best in the series is Final Fantasy 7...but 8, X and X-2 are good alternatives.
Racing...too many....in my opinion Toca Race Driver 3, Project Gothem Racing 2 or 3, Gran Turismo 4..if you want two wheels then Moto GP series.
I do not know about shooters.....but hope that helps.

Metroid Prime. This 3-D Metroid did about exactly what Super Metroid was famous for, an old school side scroller adventure that was intriguing, alien landscapes littered with labyrinths & ferocious creatures.
Gameplay is great, easy to pick up but challanging later on. Puzzles were well designed, not too easy nor too hard. As for looks, the worlds were rendered with beautiful effects. Amazing for its time on the Cube, even though the XBox's graphics were superior.

best game ever?
either the original super mario brothers, or legend of zelda: ocarina of time. Most of these new games can't compare with the classics. The graphics might be getting better, but in terms of gameplay, I'd much rather play the old games.
Though I admit Halo is pretty cool.

thats a really tough question.....ill divide them into categories.
fisrt person shooters: unreal tournament(any of them), counterstrike, or half-life(even though its old it is amazing) and half-life 2
Adventure: Legend of Zelda
Retro: Mario or Sonic or Pac-Man
Real time strategy: Warcraft 3, Age of Mythology, Command and Conquer
Rpg: Final fantasy( 7,8,10,10-2,12) or Elder Scrolls Oblivion
Hack n' Slash: Diablo 2
Rythm: Guitar hero 2, or dance dance revolution
Puzzle: Tetris
Racing: Mario Kart( the gamecube version or the one for DS)
MMORPG: World of Warcraft(because of how many people play) Runescape(because it is free) or City of Heroes/Villians
Side-Scroller: Any Mario game, Yoshi's Island
Action: Gears of War(but it is VERY short), Dead Rising(zombies!) Any of the GTA games
Sports: any of the SSX games or Madden is okay
Other: Any of the warioware games

well if its personal favourite then sonic on sega, and fifa series, but the best game ever then it depends:
best graphics: final fatasy (7-12)
best seller: mario
best fighting: street fighter 2
best sports: fifa series
best advanture: Zelda
