I move the mouse to get it out of sleep mode and instead of working like it usually did now the monitor starts blinking a black screen on and off and I tap the monitor on top a couple times and it comes back to normal. an someone tell me what is wrong with my LCD monitor?

nothing is wrong with your monitor (as far as i know) let it sit for a couple of seconds and see if it works. your computer drives and etc have to re-spool.

there is something wrong, but i think you should turn off your monitor off when you leave the room. and if you want more information on how to make the monitor not go on sleep mode tell me

okay..
first of all, stop tapping the monitor.
If the monitor starts blinking, let it blink and see what happens.
It might be adjusting to your computer settings, and will come right up without you tapping.

If it really does need the 'slap' in order for it to work, you would want to call dell and get it replaced.

just turn off the monitor when your not using it
