There are a large number of electronic filing places available for free, just go to www.irs.gov. Their services are free for just filing simple tax returns, like 1040EZ, but charge extra for other services like state returns.

If you go to irs.gov they will give you a list of sites that will let you file your federal taxes for free online. I used TaxAct.com and it was super easy and free. Now if you also have to file state taxes they will (as will every other site) charge you so you are probably better off just doing it on paper. Good luck.

If you go to H&R Block, they cahrge you a fee, but it comes out of your return if you get the money that day. If you have turbo tax, I think it's free to e-file. I don't know about independent web sites that do e-filing.
