It's Turkey so well... you know what happens. But it is the same with many countries that have manitory service.

If he is in another country well he best stay there. But in this day and age of computers so much is inter related. When applying for citizenship or residency the other country will most likely check. Turkey could suspend citizenship and then years later while just living life in another country that country could deport that person. If he crossed a border at anytime..... the same. Turkey is trying really hard to join the EU. Part of that includes sharing databases.

Bottom line... your friend may thing he will get away with it but he will always wonder when they may come for him. A simple traffic ticket may start it. What kind of life is that? Say you have a family, have gained residency in another country and will always wonder if it may be taken away. How can you truly care for your family with this hanging about.

Your friend needs to be a man and do what he has to do rather than avoid things as at some point even mentally. He will be always feel as if he should have done something different....... and the bottom line again.... was he a coward when only 18 months or so would have just gotten it over with.
