Let's face the truth...Nobody cares about Man Utd...at least not anymore...Granted they have a fan base like any other club...but the sad thing for those fans is that the love they hold for the club has been diluted by the glory hunters who now wear a very different colour...blue...no silly they didn't become city fans...they all went out and bought nice new Chelsea shirts and had some expensive foreign flops name printed on the back in shinny gold letters.

What it comes down to is I grew up in the 90's where well lets face it Man Utd won pretty much everything (and yes with kids not with a cheque book) and I'm pretty bitter about that fact that nobody really got a look-in. well except in my case the 93 league cup that was my team who beat Man Utd that year...that's Villa by the way...True fan's won't just like they will love their club forever.

Yes Manchester United have still got significant support around the world. Many people would like to see Man Utd topple Chelsea in the English Premiership.

I'm a football fan, not a club supporter. When Man U are on song they are the most exciting team in Europe. Their fast paced passing and movement, the angles they create, the incisiveness and competitive aggression is just thrilling. Arsenal are a distant second. And Chelsea are just are too pedestrian and workmanlike for me and have little flair or style. Liverpool are just the best of the rest.

But Man U still ache for a world class striker to replace van Nistelrooy. Saha is just not in the same class. Man U should bust the bank to sign Drogba - he is the current Shearer and would suit Man U down to a tee.

Man Utd are the same as any of the great teams. they pick up fans while they are successful - which they still are. it's only really weak football fans who change their team every 5 seconds. most pick a team, for whatever reasons, and stick with them. so I'm guessing that all those fans who picked man utd are still supporting them.

Dave - remember both the Greenhoffs playing for Man. United with Gordon Hill, Steve Coppell and Stuart Pearson. They bounced back from the 2nd Division with determination...but then, they were up against mighty Liverpool. 'Twas a great time to follow football (football Inter-City specials notwithstanding!)...sheesh - it was even good to look forward to a Norwich home game in those days (ahem)! United are not too bad now, but football as a whole has become snarly and idiotic.

Huh, man u? 'Look at my id man u'. Impressive, man u - but id's mean sweet zilch - asbo_arry...what does that make you think of? xx

As a neutral - yes. They play some great football, and much of it comes from English (and the odd welsh and scots player) rather than all those foreign players at Arsenal.
