The Dead Do Not Weep

By Genevieve Cora Fraser

"We are the lost ones
From a Time before Time
From a Land beyond the Stars…
We have survived the first War
Between the Powers of the Gods
And have seen the wrath of the Ancient Ones
Dark Angels
Vent upon the Earth
We are from a race beyond the wanderers of night…”
- The Necronomicon - Magan Text Narrative -The Selected Ones shoulder their rifles
Alive in sniper nests with night goggles
Probe the enemy’s stronghold
Mosques, children in classrooms
Old women hanging laundry
On roof tops they set up command
Posts take aim and hold their fire
Until provoked by the sound of laughter
A stray ball bouncing in the road
During curfew they rule
Over all glazed eyes wander
Beneath an Arabic landscape
Offensive to their judgment
For blood is the ribbon
Of valor to be won
Tallies kept
Picking the old man
Walking with a stick
The young man tending
His fruit cart under an aged
Canopy next to the bullet
Riddled wall where martyrs
Blood is splashed alongside posters
Of their brethren lost
Lost are the tranquil nights
The Terra Sancta is once again
Sanctified the Fertile Crescent
Alive with grief
As a sniper’s finger pulls
The trigger for a quick rush
One by one picked off
Is not genocide
But the strategic advantage
Played as resistors to annihilation
Are provoked giving Armed Forces
Ammunition helicopter gunships
Readied fighter jets readied bulldozers
Tanks on high alert waiting
Beneath the headlines
Late night talk shows
Sound-bites numb thought
The World lays fitful
Dreaming
Lost in the image
Of a just cause
As the God of Revenge
Is awakened scheming
Beneath the wraps
Of a mummified conscience
The One-Eyed Monster
Green and jealous
Devours democracy
As the Dead
Gather loved-ones
In the valley
Of the lost souls
Tiny particles
Of living matter
Are biomass
To red blooded
Armies amassed
For conquest
The ram’s horn
Blares forth
Victory
Is ours
Lost
In time’s
Transgressions
THE DEAD
DO NOT WEEP.

I don't think so. The moment the soul leaves this body it enters another life completely oblivious of anything of the past life. Only we the living weep for the dead.

Not enough information in the question. So I will say No in fact the living weep for the dead.

Who were the dead in your opinion.

Who are the living.

where are they residing.

Are the tears ohhhhhh i can't say the rest without using long words. I don't want to use long words. The answer is ten past five.

i thnik they do weep for the living. the living are always fighting for what belongs to others- money, waelth, land etc. ultimately everything is buried under six foot deep soil. it is there where we find our ultimate rest, the dead have realized that, but not the living. that is why the dead weep for the living. they are weeping at the folly of the living.

Well, it's a big assumption that the dead do anything.

But if we take that in our stride...
Some probably do.

I recall a play where at the end the protagonist discovered that the sound of heaven was weeping.

It was the only place where people could see the world as it was, knew what it might be, and cared about the difference.

Even I as a *living* mortal sometimes think my fellow human beings must be mad, or blind. (and I've been accused of both once or twice, just to undermine any pedestal pretensions).

There is no way a living person would know the answer to that question.
Not all humans have the same belief. But my belief is that there is a spiritual realm where there is no time. There is no sorrow or pain. There is no reason to weep.

I wouldn't weep. I feel that this life has a chance of being the closest equivalant to hell. I look forward to the next life, but I do hope that I remember everything I did in this life.

ok-assuming the dead have the ability to weep, then they probably would because im sure the living human race can be a sad thing to observe (assuming they can observe lol)

Hi La Mort,

Oh, I sincerely hope not.
They wouldn't let you weep in hell, you may put the fire out!

Anyway, if we are not to suffer any more, once we die, surely our emotions would be under control, unlike they are now ...
That's assuming there is anything else after life.

I'd like to keep an open mind on that one!
