I have a horrific pain right under my breast spreading across the whole right side of the rib. Could it be a rib problem? I know I was seriously stressing muscles for about 3 days straight, muscles I haven't used in a while ,plus I had a cold with constant hard sneezing and hard coughing.
Thanks

Stretched ligaments, in your under arms, which pull from the muscles under your breast,. use heat and if possible immobilize fro a day at least.

OMG those can be so painful. Either you have a rib that could be somewhat dislocated. a detached rib. a torn tendon perhaps. In any case they hurt like heck. I had three torn tendons around my ribs last fall. took 6 weeks to somewhat heal. I never want to feel that again. There was no easy way to sleep.

First issue visit a Chiropractor. He/she can set that rib back in. The other two visit the Doctor and get on a pain med regime. Other than that, grin and bear it. I stopped meds after 3 days. To easy to get addicted to.

Yes, could be a rib problem. Could be a lung problem. Could be cardiac. See your physician, so they can make sure that it isn't something that could possibly KILL you. "I thought it was a pulled muscle" looks lousy on a tombstone! =o)~~~
Once you have been cleared medically, look into physical therapy for relief. The doctor may give you meds, which are useful, but if you have a rib that is dysfunctional the meds will only help with symptom control.
Good luck!

it sounds like a pulled muscle or bruising under the skin/tissue

i would lay off of the area for a week and if it continues to hurt then please go see your doctor
