Um, move to Oklahoma. It is a very moderate climate...with the exception of a few days here and there. Land and homes here are relatively cheap compared to most other places and the overall cost of living is slightly cheaper. I don't know what the costs are like in Minnesota, but it is pretty easy to make a decent living and pay all your bills. I would move somewhere like Tulsa, Oklahoma City, or Norman for the industry you are in. You would make more money in one of those places.

I live outside Chicago and am also a server/bartender. While it still gets cold, it really isn't all that bad! And jobs in the service industry are a dime a dozen!!!
Oh, and the first answer... I've been waiting tables for 15 years and have never had to work full time. Working 20-30 hours a week has afforded me a home, new cars, vactions and a whole lot of savings. My average pay is $800/wk. at 30 hrs that is $26/hr. Not bad if you ask me... Oh, so uh, screw you!

Pretty much anyplace is gonna be less cold than Minnesota! If you want land, avoid major cities on the coasts, unless you're a millionaire. Maybe somewhere like St. Louis? Late spring is the best time for finding work in the service industry, so that's probably the time to do it.

The majority of my family is from st. Paul, st. cloud, and Minneapolis so i understand your desire for a change. I enjoy the visit every once in a while but its definitely not my type of permanent destination. Wilmington, North Carolina is definitely a place to consider. You have the beach, the constant increase in businesses (especially restaurants), and a vast variety of age-ranges in the community. And of course who can forget downtown wilmington!!! It's definately a ride!
Hope you find what your looking 4!!!

North Carolina.
Jacques Strappe- and what do you do? We cannot all have the same job as you. Someone has to be a waiter. If not, we will not have any and restaurants will fail.

You're going to rely on people on Yahoo Answers to tell you where to move?
How about getting a REAL skill and stop being a waiter?
