Yeah, it will be quite busy on the 18th since it's the day before President's Day. The entire week is a time of highest attendance. However, it shouldn't stop you and your mother from having a wonderful time. The best thing you can do is take advantage of Disney's FASTPASS service. It's really simple. You just insert your park ticket in the FASTPASS kiosk, and the kiosk will dispense a pass and return your park ticket. The FASTPASS will give you time period for when you may return to the attraction. For example, it might say " 4:45 to 5:45." You may return to the attraction anytime during that hour and you'll get in with little to no wait.
Also, if you're not too interested in the stage shows, parades, and fireworks displays that's a good time to go on all the different attractions. Each night they show Wishes Nighttime Spectacular and the SpectroMagic Parade. Most of the Guests watch these shows, so all the crowds are by Cinderella Castle and Main Street U.S.A., and many of the attractions don't have long lines. But the fireworks can still be seen from anywhere in the park, so you won't completely miss the show either.
Hope I could help! Have a magical time!

February usually isn't very busy. You should be able to see most everything. Get there at park opening and head for the ride that you just have to see. There are long lines in Fantasyland by about 9:30 so for me I would go there. Get fastpasses as you can and ride the things you can't get one for while you wait. When you go to Adventureland to Splash Mtn and Big Thunder. Get a fast pass for one and ride the other. When in Tomorrowland get a fast pass for Space Mountain or Buzz (which ever has the longer line) and ride the other stuff while you wait. Take time out to see the parades and fireworks. You will remember them more than some of the rides. Shop on Main Street on your way out at park close, the stores are open at least an hours past closing time and it is better to do that then spend the same amount of time standing in line for the tram or to get out of the parking lot.
Take tons of pictures and HAVE FUN!!

Get there 30 minutes before the park "officially" opens.
They often let people in 30-60 minutes early to avoid crowds jambing each other up.
Then tour the park from left to right.
When the most popular rides like space mountain are running behind, get a fast pass, then ride something else while waiting.
We did the whole park this way, rode every ride except the little carnival rides that we can ride at home. Even had time for lunch and dinner there. Don't eat at the resturants where they bring the food, takes longer. Enjoy!
P.S. My boys hated the winnie the pooh ride, I would skip it.

Take advantage of the Fast Pass. Go directly to a ride you know will be the busiest (Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain) and get a Fast Pass. While you wait, ride something else in the area.
Some things you may choose to skip, depending on the age and interests, so check out a map. But definitely get there early. They do tend to open the gates early. And buy your tickets in advance to save from having to stand in a line.

get a map and plan out what you most want to do and then backtrack to catch the less important attractions. one more thing... i'm not sure how old your mom is so no disrespect but if she is elderly see about senior citizens or handicap passes which can speed you through lines.
