They could just as easily be putting through a bill to de-fund the war. The troops would then come home IMMEDIATELY, with no harm to them. What happened to all that "Bring the troops home NOW" rhetoric that got them elected?

Why are they wasting time with symbolic non-binding resolutions when they can easily end the war TODAY?

Have they been lying to their supporters about their true intentions? Have then been lying abou tthe value of a victory in Iraq?

I'm a Dem...and I agree...don't just sit around and issue non-binding resolutions. You were given a mandate by the people...now DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Of course it's all about tricking people into thinking they've done something when they haven't. After the much publicized first 100 hours wherein they passed absolutely zilch, despite stopping the clock whenever they felt like it in order to get all the votes in within the 100 hour time limit, the Dems have to prove they can do SOMETHING. A non-binding resolution is the perfect solution for them. They can go on record opposing the war, but they can still claim they support our troops because they didn't pull the rug out from under them by cutting off funding. As always, they're trying to have it both ways!

It's a test run. The binding resolution will come along shortly after. They are just testing the waters!

Why not ask the republicans who are voting along with it. For once the congress is reflecting the sentiment of the people. The majority of Americans are against the latest "surge" and congress is voice that opposition.
