I've been looking around and it seems the only way to have songs shuffle on your nano is to edit the playlist in itunes. That seems a bit backwards to me.

I selected a bunch of albums and threw them on my nano, is there no way that I can shuffle between all of them without having to go back to my computer (which is very far from here)?

When I click on "Shuffle Songs," Songs still play in the order they are in the album they're from.

Whoops. Turns out that I'm dumb.

in the menu I had:
iPod->settings->shuffle->albums

should've been:
iPod->settings->shuffle->songs

Somewhere in the Nano menus is a shuffle option. By selecting it, it will pull songs from at random from your Nano playlist.

Look at all of the menus and look for the shuffle option. This should solve your problem. I've never done it from the computer.

The Ipod shuffle holds 1GB approximately 240 stable songs and has no navigation you pay attention to the songs interior the order you place them in on or randomly, besides the indisputable fact that this is superb tiny and occasional-cost. The nano remains truly small yet has a show to navigate photos and song on and springs with the two 2,4or 8 gb of storage. The Ipod video is the main important and costliest Ipod besides the indisputable fact that it has a 30 or 80 GB hardrive and can play movies.

I'm not sure I understand what you did, but there is a shuffle playback function on your iPod. On the Nano, click on Menu, and scroll down to "Shuffle Songs"
