Most will probably say some elected official. In reality it is probably the shadow government. You know when we elect someone to congress they go as freshmen. Once in Washington they have people that run the office for them. These people have been in Washington for years. That is their job. They in turn teach the elected officials how to govern from Washington. That is the reason we the people no longer run the government.
In our public schools it is no longer taught we should fight for our country. That is why we are at war and no one wants to stand up and fight. Congress is fighting to divide this country. Most say it is on political issues when in reality it is just to confuse the real issues!

Merely by title it would be the House Speaker and the Senate Majority Leader whom ever they are.
As President of the Senate, under the Constitution, the Vice President could also be included in that group.

It is unfortunate, but many in our hallowed halls could qualify as "distinguished". That is NOT always a positive thing. It is difficult to find many who can be called distinguished in a good sense when one digs deeply enough. Such is the sad state of our union, and WE are to blame.
