one theory proposes that there are huge deposits of gas underneath the ocean floor, which at times bursts open releasing massive amounts of gas into the ocean and air, causing ships to sink due to the drop in water density. the same gas also is released into the atmosphere, causing a drop in air pressure in that area thereby resulting in airplanes losing altitude and dropping into the sea.

There isn't any mystery behind the Bermuda Triangle. The concept was made up to sell someone's book.

It's just a bad combination of wild weather there, local pirates (who somehow aren't affected), and bad navigation. I'm pretty sure Flight 19 crashed into the Okefenokee Swamp. It'll be a miracle if anyone EVER finds them in there!

It has mostly alot to do with sailing its more of an ocean tale. Communication devices are rumored to not work there and compasses go bananas. It has more to do with the earths gravitational pull in that area.
