Sunlight contains all colors so when it passes through the atmosphere some colors get filtered out depending on the amount of moisture, pollution, ozone, etc in the air at that time. Also, at what angle the light refracts on the sky. Thats why sunsets are more colorful.

well early in the morning when the angle the sun makes with that part of the sky that u can see is pretty small......and since we no that at small angles red and orange get more scattered than blue and violet
later in the day when the angle the ray makes with the plane of the sky gets larger.....blue and violet get scattered more ....and since our eyes r not very sensitive to violet.....the sky appears blue
