If you're in a relationship with someone you are madly in love with & you want to spend the rest of your lives together.....but it just seems like the odds are against you because of your obvious personality differences...do you fight it out for as long as possible and MAKE it work. Or do you just let go before it gets too messy?

How do you think any long lasting loving couples ever lasted?

If they gave up when they were fed up and maybe not so much in love with the one they are in love with then no couples would ever last.

It's not just about that younger passionate feeling it is about all of the feelings we have through out our lives.
It's about all you go through and how your feelings and desires change and grow as you get older and older and being committed
to each other. Committed no matter what now that is a very special love! That is worth the work!

If you truly love someone, you will do what's best for THEM, not for yourself. If they are happy in the relationship, then stay together. Depending on how long you've been together, I'd say work it out and come to an agreement to disagree. You'll find it may provide more interest in your relationship than if you both were too be more similar.

It's time to let go. When you're at the point when you actually have to think about everything and have to put that much effort into it, in the end it will only make the two of you miserable.

Let go and try to salvage any kind of friendship you possibly can get.

Personality differences aren't a bad thing. If you have heated arguments about trivial things, you may want to review why you are really arguing. I don't want to cast doubt on a relationship, even one you've cast doubt on already. Men and women perceive things differently. Even the same gender can have different perspectives based on their life experiences. That doesn't make either of you right or completely wrong.

If the other person is in love with you, then I say work on your relationship. Having different peronalities is a good thing. You would soon grow bored with someone who didn't challenge you. Communication is the most important thing in a relationship, talk to your partner and tell them how you feel.

I would fight it out because if I truly love someone I will do whatever it takes to be with that person. If it means me making changes in my life then so be it.

Well, if I were you then i would just go with the flow and see if he likes what you do. If he doesn't then you need to move on. And believe me you will know when it's time to just let go. There are plenty of people out there for you. And maybe he just isn't the one.

The choice is yours, but you will never completely let go of someone you truly love.

The moment you realize that they no longer love you or that they never did love you in the first place.

The magic is gone if all you do is quarrel. It's time to get out and start working toward someone new.
