We evolved in earth-like conditions, so we are very well adapted to conditions on this planet. If the size somehow suddenly changed, various other things would change as well (most notably the gravity), and we'd have a much harder time coping.

Of course, if the earth had been a lot bigger or smaller, then the lifeforms on it would have evolved to match those conditions.

Bottom line: The earth is the right size *for us*.

The size of the earth, in combination with the average density of the earth, determines what the gravity at the surface of the earth will be... if the density was the the same, but the earth was twice the size, gravity at the surface would be so high that a human wouldn't be able to lift their own weight... if it was the size of the moon, then we'd be able to jump tens of feet into the air with little effort, as gravity would be less

Larger or smaller globes would make the gravity more or less. That would affect physical characteristics of any life forms that might have evolved.

If life is here, which it is, than Earth is the right size.
