No. Being pushy could get you dropped off the consideration list.
You got an interview, so just sit tight and wait. Some places take weeks to decide who to take or not, or who to request a 2nd interview from.
After 3 weeks, if you've heard nothing, then your chances start to fall.

Did you follow up with a thank you note? You should do that first. Did you ask or did they give you any indication as to when they would be making a decision? In the future, ask that they call you either way when the decision is made, this way you know what is still possible and what is not. Anyway...
I would wait another week, call HR and ask if the position has been filled. If the answer is no, explain that you interviewed 2 weeks ago and would like to know if they would be making a decision in the near future. I have done this in the past and they usually come back with SOME time line I can go by, like, by the end of the month...etc...I also had a company say, we're glad you called, we'd like to offer the position to you!
So, be polite and courteous, what you're asking is legitimate. Good Luck!

I think the most tactful way for you to "follow up" on the status of your interview is to send them a thank you card a day or two after your interview. Then give your follow up call. This will give you a reason to call and follow up on your status. "Hi, just following up to see if you got my thank you card!" "I also wanted to follow up to see if I am still being considered for the position I applied for." I've done this in the past and 2 out of 3 times they called me because my card left an impression. These people are so used to receiving emails and and are busy with other HR things, so a hand written note always makes their day. Good luck!

your next step should be to send the recruiter a thank you note. that will make you stand out. you want to appear interested but not desperate. wait another week before calling. if you don't get the job, be polite and ask why you didn't get it. accept the feedback without arguing about it, thank the interviewer, and move on.

Not necessarily to find out the status, but let them know you are still interested and to thank them for their time last week. This will make them remember who you are and possibly put you at the top of their list. Good luck!!

Yes. If you really want the job, it is better to show curiosity and enthusiasm rather than a "wait and see" attitude. Persistence can pay off in the long run. Good Luck.

a sufficient amount of time has passed, I would call and politely ask them if they had come to a decision yet.
