carpal tunnel syndrome is a common problem among computer users... sounds like you just joined the ranks!
when typing, keep your wrists straight, instead of resting your hands on the desk and moving your fingers- move your entire hands.
also an ergonomic keyboard would do wonders for your issues- ask at an internet cafe or a second hand computer store- u can usually get one pretty cheap cuz most ppl do not want them(idiots)
another thing you can get to help deal with this issue is a special mouse - made by microsoft-- its not easy to get used to, but once you do, your problem will lessen-- instead of moving the whole mouse around, it is designed to just move your thumb (thats where the roller ball is, rather than on bottom) and its ergonomically correct... the bottom of mine says it is a tracball optical mouse - i got it at best buy for about $30 (here is a link to ebay- with a pic... http://cgi.ebay.com/Microsoft-Trackball-Optical-mouse-USB_W0QQitemZ130079643615QQihZ003QQcategoryZ11193QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item130079643615 )
i have had carpal tunnel syndrome for several years, and have avoided surgery by taking the above suggestions to heart as well as one TIME RELEASE VITAMIN B COMPLEX pill per day-- it is important to get the time release AND the b complex- they will help ease your pain in only a few days without surgery. i got mine at GNC for about $17 for 500 capsules.
you now have it- you can't prevent it- only treat it

Which wrist are we talking about? The one on the mouse?
What websites are you frequenting? Too many questions to make a proper diagnosis, however if it is the one with the mouse it could be carpal tunnel syndrome, its a nerve that causes the pain, or you could have arthritis, remember that illness can even affect young people. For carpal tunnel you need to see a Neurologist, if it persists see you doctor because it can get really painful.

Make sure you use a good mouse, keyboard, desk and chair. It's not just peripherals but also posture and how you sit. I've found that sitting on the bed is terrible as your wrist is so low and is at right angle with your elbow instead of being at 180. Hope that makes sense.

The long hours and lack of wrist support are whats causing your pain and, can also lead to loss of strength and in worse cases, carpal tunnel. You can get new and improved ergonomic keyboards that come with a wrist support to counter that. Happy chatting.

What helped me was to buy one of those gel wrist rests. The one I have at my work desk is attached to the mouse pad, but you can buy them separately as well. They also sell an ergonomic mouse if you want to try that.

When you type, you're moving the tendons and muscles in your fingers which is, in turn pulling muscles in your wrist. They have wrist braces you can wear. They help to prevent carpal tunnel. Hope this helps.

try changing the posture of your hand as you hold the mouse, but you can also buy a mouse pad that has a little gel pad for your wrist... pretty inexpensive, but feels nice.

I SIT TOO FAR FROM THE PC, AND PUT ALL MY WEIGHT ON MY "MOUSE ARM". I'VE MOVED CLOSER AND IT SEEMS TO HAVE WORKED.
I ALSO HAVE RECENTLY TAKEN A FANCY TO FRAZZLES, BUT CAN'T GET THEM ANYWHERE, ANY IDEAS?

Stop playing with yourself in between mouse sessions may help, or you could get a wrist rest if you want to continue playing with yourself
