No, we just need to have a dialogue where we carefully measure our words. If we elevate the solutions to more than building a wall, it will sit better. The cause is best served when people can see that our system exploits aliens. It is the 21st century equivalent to slavery. If employers had to be 'Sponsors' and guarantee health care and social costs, the nature of the problem would change. For each executive who goes to prison for breaking the law, it would cause a thousand others to change.
