how do i fix a tear on my convertible roof?

hi all i have a tear each side of my convetible roof and wondered what i need to repair it and how to go about it i cant afford a new roof and have read this can be done

Gaffer tape. (duck tape, elephant tape). Worth a try.

Hi for a more professional job look in any Classic car magazine for specialists who do this work everyday .Practical classics springs to mind ,you dont say what car you have ,is there an owners club for this make ,you will find them on line ,they have contacts also.Good luck
