I am wondering what types of side effects you have encountered with Mirena? I have not had children and I understand that my cramping may be worse than for someone that has had children. Twice in the last month I have had cramping so bad that I get lightheaded, will this go away with time or is it something I just have to learn to deal with?

What are some other side-effects you have experienced?

hi,
I had minera inserted over 2 years ago without any problems.
I have been period free since that time.
I have no childern so I don't think that that is an issue. Call your doctor and let him know about your problems maybe it is not properly inserted.
I'm sorry you are having all these poblems, for me it has been a life saver, hopefully you will be as happy as I am,

No. Mirena works in 3 ways- 2 of them are "physical"...as in the device prevents the egg from getting where it needs to go, and the sperm from getting where it needs to go. The hormones in it are very low dosage and just thin your uterus lining-- I dont think there's enough to cause moodiness or anything.

I have Mirena and haven't had any problems with it. I'm very pleased that I got it. I do have children and do not plan to have anymore.
