We have electric baseboard heating that has functioned very well for many years. However, they are now starting to provide less than adequate heat or not work at all. We do not have ducting for forced air heating and cooling, and the extra insulation and attention to detail in the original contruction has meant that electric heat has not become unduly burdensome even with rising electicity costs. Any advice will be appreciated.

I've had baseboard heaters and the fan-type; I like baseboard heaters, because they require so little maintenance. If you need a bit of circulation beyond what convection supplies, you can always put a little circulating fan nearby - lots easier than dealing with a fan that runs constantly. However, I've only needed to do this on REALLY cold days, even when I lived in Colorado and temps went below zero regularly. Cadet is a good brand, by the way, at least in my opinion.
