What aspect of The Fountainhead do you like best?

Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials books are a criticism of organized religion, especially one attached to a government.

Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 and Orwell's 1984 are about oppressive governments and the role of personal responsibility.

I read The Fountainhead almost 20 years ago now, and, other than Atlas Shrugged, I cannot think of another novel that is so pro-capitalist, pro-individual responsibility, anti-government, and I am an avid reader. Most novelists write for entertainment, and such philiosophical ideas are above the average reader. Most writers who write about economics and philosophy don't write fiction. I think Rand was quite unique, which is unfortunate.

Rand wrote three other fictional novels in addition to the Fountainhead.

-Atlas Shrugged
-We the Living
-Anthem

Atlas Shrugged is most similar to the Fountainhead (actually, I think it is even better). We the Living is story set in Communist Russia and is loosely based on Rand's own life. Anthem is a very short novel, somewhat similar to Orwell's 1984.
