if i dont know the brand or anything about my usb card, how do i know which driver to install?

Just plug it in. Windows will pop up a window on the task bar saying "Found New Hardware". It will then find and install the driver for the hardware. If there is a problem, it will guide you through it. When you plug it in, it should give you the brand of the device. When you want to remove the hardware, make sure you hit "safely remove hardware" icon on the taskbar, this will prevent files from being corrupted if it is a storage device.

Most usb devices are plug and play, and your operating system will help you find the driver if it is not.
