I heard we could keep mice away for the winter if we used moth balls. We spread a whole box under the trailer. Now the smell is in everything.

That is such a horrible smell...i'm sorry. Maybe Febreeze would work, but I think it probably just needs to air out.

This is going to be tough, and there is no quick fix. To start, of course make sure all of the mothball residue is removed from under the trailer. Then a layer of fresh cedar wood chips under the trailer will not only improve the air, but deter insects. .All of the others suggestions are good, but you cannot mask the odour of mothballs. Lots of fresh air, washing anything washable from curtains to bedding and walls and furniture. Use a pleasant smelling detergent and a wood furniture cleaner like Murphys Soap, and try a dose of baking soda on upholstered furniture to be vacuumed off the following week. Crumple fresh newspaper to stuff in storage areas, drawers, closets and cupboards and remove the following week. I've not had an entire trailer to de-mothball, but have needed all the above to remove the odour from a storage locker and an attic. Good luck.

That sucks! I HATE the smell of moth balls. Have you tried Febreeze? Baking Soda? Good airing? or else, jus time I guess guess. Hmmm, what about insense to cover the smell - better oick a flavour you like though:0) Good Luck. Oops, I forgot - charcoal works really good too. Get it at the pet store in the fish section.

Set a couple of small bowls with Vanilla Extract in the trailer and close it up. Change the Vanilla about every three days. It should end the smell in a week or two. Works for bad smelling fridges also.

set a bowl of charcoal brikquets in each room. (Like you cook with) They will absorb the odor. Try to get the moth balls moved and trashed. Burn some candles in every room. Do this safely and do not leave them unattended.
