The only relief from back pain while I was pregnant was having a baby.

No matter what I did, my back hurt practically all the time. Once the baby was born, the pain vanished.

Hang in there. Tylenol might help, but I doubt it. If possible, sit a little reclined. Supposedly, sitting in a reclined angle is better for your back than straight up.

If that set can't be broken, your boss should buy a separate one especially for you. He has to do something to improve your working conditions if he can't temporarily switch you to a different position (which you probably don't wnat anyway). Can't you check what Labor Code and the internal regulations of the company say about working conditions during pregnancy? Usually all it takes is just some human understanding on the part of the boss but yours is acting like a jerk so maybe some hint that you know about your pregnancy rights and might just decide to complain about that will give a better result. Or if stretching for 10 minutes every hour will help, you might get a permission to do that.

I have the exact same problem (office job, sit alllllllllll day). It's killing my back! During the day I'm nearly in tears because my back hurts so bad...and when I get home I normally end up laying down because my back hurts constantly and just gets aggrevated at work...

Try buying a special support pillow to put on your chair, also, I have discovered that my back hurts a lot worse if I cross my legs most of the day...if you sit with both feet on the floor I think it helps...other than that there's not too much you can do unfortunately...or at least I haven't figured out anything that helps a lot.

Good luck!

Massaging the back muscles will reduce the pain.Apply an icepack to the affected area. This will make the area numb and reduce the pain. More details and remedies at http://aches.in/backpainremedies.html

Try those heating pads and a back pillow. I use to get back pain too but accomponied by a sharp pain into my leg. This helped a little. You need to get up and strech those muscles every hour or so too!

Try getting up every so often and streching or taking a short walk. That is what I had to do and it did help alot. I also use to put my keyboard up and stand up for awhile doing work. good luck and congrats.

There really isn't much that you can do, maybe a good massage might help you out.
