Was it worth it or totally overrated?

we stopped in st maarten on our cruise and its not bad if you like looking at old balls and pleasantly plump ladies! other than that its just a beach.

I absolutrely love the nude beach and go as much as possible every summer here on Long Island. I started going four years ago at the end of my freshman year in college and honestly have not worn a bathing suit on the beach or at friend's pools since that first time.
I find going nude at the beach a relaxing, fun and very sensual experience. Notice that I said sensual rather than sexual...there is a major difference, and if you're going to a nude beach looking for uninhibited opportunities for sex, it's not going to happen. Although I'd be less than honest if I didn't admit that being naked in the company of so many other naked people can be somewhat of a turn-on at times, the nude beach is definitely not about sex.
It's about doing everything that people do at a clothed beach, except that we do it naked.
When you really think about it, wearing a tiny cloth covering over minimal areas of our bodies, then getting those little bits of cloth soaking wet, after which we have the "pleasure" of lying around in wet, soggy and probably sandy bits of that same cloth...well, you get the picture. It's much more comfortable and logical to simply get naked and enjoy the sensations of the warm sun, the cool breeze and the refreshing water all over our bare skin.
Many people are somewhat shy and inhibited about getting naked in public in front of others. Trust me...once you get your clothes off those feeling will probably last less that 10 minutes, after which you'll be having such a good time that you'll probably begin to forget that you're naked.
Obviously, as a girl who loves the nude beach (and will never wear a bathing suit again!) I urge you to give it a try. Hey, what's the worst that can happen? You'll hate it and put your clothes back on.
Somehow, however, I don't think that's even a slight possibility.

Yay, another nude beach question! Nude beaches are fabulous provided you go there for the right reason (i.e. fun, sun, relaxation and wonderful people.) A nude beach is not the optimal locale for a man to attempt a hook-up with a woman he has never met.
At a nude beach you will see young and old, fit and fat, straight and gay, just like in the rest of society. As a woman in her early twenties I prefer to go with my boyfriend and nearly always, at the end of the day, our nude beach experience was worth it.
Go forth and take the plunge.

OK, it bubble breaking time. I've been to three.
Black's Beach practically in the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Mostly gay guys (surprise!) lounging around. Not exactly exiting to me.
Westward Beach Cove, Point Dume also in CA. Difficult to enjoy, a few beached whales of both sexes, drunk teenage guys ogling their first naked bods, some boats hovering just beyond the waves with binoculared beer guzzlers aboard and small planes buzzing by. Plus, surprise, more gay guys!
A third time my gal and I shed it all in a private beach. It was great!
It seems public nude beaches are way too public, not sexy, not hott! For me!

Not an official one, but some of my friends and I turned a regular beach into a nude beach on a regular basis when I was a teenager, lol. It was a place nobody else went....we just wanted to have fun and had no desire to get arrested.

yes and its not overrated if your expectations arent to see people with bodies like matt mcconehey and halle berry! most people who are into public nudity are just there for the freedom of being nude not for the sex angle

Been to several in So Cal and no it is not over rated. It was fun and we had a great time. Everyone should try it at least once.
