It's Valentines Eve and my mind travels back in time to this same time last year .Then I had a beautiful girlfriend, a great job and life was grand. That is, before that fateful night's goings on and all that ensued after that. I'll start at the beginning.
I arrived home from a business trip, tired and cranky,and hit the bed almost immediately. My flight had been delayed for 6 hours and of all days for this to happen ,Valentines Day! I called my girlfriend Silva and explained what had happened and that I thought it would be best if we put off our celebration till tomorrow night since I probably wouldn't arrive home till 2 AM. "Oh no" she said "don't go breakin" my heart, you big meanie, I had a really special surprise planned for you!!" As much as I was dying to see her and the "surprise", I was really dog tired. She finally agreed that that I was probably right, we said our "I love you's" and hung up.
God only knows why, but for some reason Silva decided to give me my "surprise" that night! She came in through the bathroom window as stealthily as a cat burglar. I didn't hear a thing untill I felt two hands pinning my arms back while straddling me and whispering "Close your eyes and I'll kiss you" I had been in a really deep sleep and I panicked and reacted to what I thought was some crazed lunatic in my bed. I grabbed the intruder and flung her off the bed, then jumped up and rushed to turn on the light. I was aghast when I saw it was Silva, sprawled on the floor, dressed in a cupid's outfit, and totally unconscious!
To make a long story short, Silva hit her head on the nightstand and sustained a concussion. When she awoke she had no idea who I was! Her doctor said this is the only case of true amnesia he has ever encountered! Needless to say, this was the end of our relationship. She has gotten most of her memory back now (except for me!)and we talk occasionally, but only as friends now. So.....It is Valentine's Eve again. Here comes the sun, its 5 AM and I have spent nearly the whole night rehashing the past. Oh Silva, if you could only know how I think about you every night and wish things could go back to the way they were! Oh, and reader, dont think I've given up yet, as I said we ARE talking!!!!!
