John Amaechi played in the NBA and announced that he was gay. Why should I care who John Amaechi is attracted to. He has a book coming out very soon also. Just coincidence that he does this and gets tons of media attention right before his books comes out? John Amaechi is gay and I wanna know why thats news.

This is news because we live in homophobic society. I don't care who he's doing. I'm too busy worrying about who I'm doing.

For the same reason that it was apparently news that T.R. Knight, Lance Bass, and Neil Patrick Harris are gay. I just hope that these people are happy with their lives and that the public and media will leave them alone. It's really their business!
