Did anybody watch the 2007 Grammy Awards this past weekend? Can someone tell me why 5 time nominee Prince or 2 time nominee Mariah Carey didn't receive one??

They didn't get enough votes and since the music industry does the voting they need to get awards to newer artists because they know most people in their teens, twenties and some in their 30's download their music for free rather than buy it.
They're desperate for relevancy.

Probably because Mariah Carey and Prince hasn't had anything too new or fresh out lately. And Mary J. Blige and Dixie Chicks comes out with hit after hit, and they both have great collaborations. **Hope this helps!!Please rate my answer as best!!Thanx!!**
