It goes up the day after ovulation and stays high for the rest of the cycle. If you get pg it stays high for the duration of the pregnancy. Many women notice that they see a temp fall the day their period starts but it is not uncommon for some women to have high temps the first few days of their period--this is just slow response to the drop in progesterone.

Your body temp goes up right after you ovulate. If you don't get pregnant it goes down around the day you get your period, if you do get pregnant it will stay high till the baby is born.
