"I'ts my body", is not an excuse to kill.

How about, "It's my baby". Would you still murder it?

babysoft, I agree with you, somehow we need to punish both of them.

Because of a completely unjust court ruling handed down by 9 people in 1973.

I can't believe the complete lack of ignorance about prenatal development displayed here. People, there is no debate in the medical community about when life begins:

It is a simple biological fact that from the point of conception, we are human and we are alive. Before most women even know they are pregnant (3 weeks after conception), their baby's heart is already beating. The average age of an aborted baby in America is 10 weeks, and virtually no babies are surgically aborted before 6-7 weeks. At 6 weeks, the baby has recordable brain waves and tiny fingers. At 7 weeks, she begins moving in the womb. If her cheek is stroked, she will turn her head. At 8 weeks, she is fully formed and all her organs are functing. She can suck her thumb. If her palm is pricked, she will open her mouth and pull her hand away. At 9 weeks, she will grasp an object placed in her palm. The child in the womb has his or her own DNA, own blood type, own body, own reactions. He may even be a different sex than his mother. He is a separate human being. Why the denial?

Babies who are already born "invade" their mother's space, too, and are totally dependent on their mother for care. Does that mean it is acceptable to kill them, too?

Killing innocent human beings is wrong, and no amount of illogical justifications will make it right. For more information, see:

either that or,if a man & woman have sex willingly &
don't use protection, why make it easy for them to kill
their own kid,why not punish them both? Besides if
you watch enough television you'll know that most of
the men and the boys being accused of being the father
are not the actual Fathers in at least 95% of the cases!!!
Why allow these loose sexmongers & lustful alley cats
take over our nation,& spread VD along with their hate
for babies,& children!!! No one forces them to act this
way! Why do they blame america for their behaviors?

I agree that abortion is murder. However, it is up to each state to make laws against or for abortion. I, myself, do not understand why people can debates about using the placenta for cancer cures, etc when they agree with abortion. People are entitled to their opinion, I guess.

I think if all of the babies that are born with the parent having no way to care for them were left on YOUR doorstep to feed, clothe and educate, you'd have a different view point! Abortion is a matter of practicality.

A baby has a heartbeat before it is born. Therefore abortion is murder.

Nostradaumus needs to read the Bible isntead of trying to quote it from what he's heard through atheists on Yahoo! Answers.

It's not illegal because too many law makers are afraid to make a stand against the radical feminist lesbian movement in this country.

And until women can create children without sperm, they need to stuff that "it's not a man's issue" crap.

Why do you care what a woman does with her body?!?!?! It is her own damn choice. Go live in Nicaragua where it is illegal to have an abortion even if going through with the pregnancy is potentially harmful for the woman!

Seriously, do you have nothing better to do than to push peoples buttons? Abortion is a very touchy subject - always has been and always will be.

Go away or post real questions.

because it's her body, you obviously are a male. do you know how it is to take care of a child when you can't afford it? do you know how it feels to carry a baby for none months? no, you don't. what about the woman that are raped and get pregnant as a result, do you expect them to keep a baby of the person that raped them, hell no. you sound very insensitive. so as far as your idea that woman should go to jail, it's none of your damn business what they do with their bodies. no one tells you what to do with yours. No one tells you to stop smoking the drugs that you do.
