I can see getting a little something for your kids and/or parents. But why spend money on everyone you know? Doesn't it take away the true meaning of the day?

Personally i think that even giving out cards to regular friends is too much and takes away from what it's about.
Do we really have to acknowledge our friends with gifts and cards so many times during the year....Christmas, Birthdays, halloween, V-Day, etc.

I think it takes away from the true meaning of love when people have to be told to be nice to their significant other on a specific date. But I see your point, it's not like single people are capable of love right? {wee bit o'sarcasm!}

not everyone has a lover so people give to the people they love.
