- Did you cycle your tank? In the wild, and in established tanks, there are nitrifying bacteria that break down toxic ammonia from fish waste and excess food into less toxic nitrates. In a brand new tank, these bacteria don't exist, so any fish in the tank will produce ammonia, which, not being broken down by bacteria, will kill or weaken the fish. So, it is vital to cycle your tank.

Guppies are hardy, but because they've been inbred so much (to get all those nice colours), many strains are very weak and would easily succomb to ammonia poisoning.

- Where did you get them? Stores like Walmart and Petco carry very low quality fish. Try to get them from a store that specializes in fish, or even Petsmart.

- Was the male pestering the females a lot? Male guppies can be really annoying and if they pester a female too much, that combined with the stress of just having moved could have killed them.

- Did you properly acclimate them? Guppies can tolerate a wide range of water parameters (pH, hardness, etc), but they need to be given some time to get used to their new environment and temperature. To acclimate, you must float the bag in the aquarium for about 10 minutes (to equalize the temperature). Then open the bag, and add a half cup of tank water. Repeat in 10 minutes. Then net the fish and release them, and throw away the bag water.

- Did you dechlorinate your water?

Can a dwarf blow a hole in it's pants? Bowling (Pronounced Wee-ner) is a sport in which players attempt to score points by rolling a bowling ball along a flat surface, usually a wooden or synthetic surface, either into objects called pins or to get close to a target ball.[1] There are many forms of bowling, with one of the most recent being ten-pin bowling. Primitive forms of bowling may have existed in ancient times as early as A.D. 300 in Germany,[2] and also in ancient Finland and Yemen.[3] The first standardized rules were established in New York City, on September 9, 1895.[4] Today, bowling is enjoyed by 95 million people in more than ninety countries worldwide [5] and continues to grow through entertainment mediums such as video gays for home consoles and hand held weiner.[6] That is all, Captain Falcon, AWAY!!!

This happens very often. Most guppies, fancy or feeders are shipp4ed in overcrowded condiyions to the stores. Some have diseases and when they are placed into the tanks in the store they spread their diseases to the other weaker fish. They are overcrowded in the store tanks, too. Look at each one very carefully before buying(use a magnifying glass) to see if there are any signs of ich, rot,or fungus. Pregnant females are weaker and can be stressed out from being moved. Add some kosher salt or aquarium salt (same thing) to the water and keep them in a separate tank for a week. Keep your receipt and if they die within 24 hours many stores will exchange them. If you can't go back to the store right away, put the dead fish in the freezer, and call the store. Tell the manager, and when you go back to the store, they should then give you credit or exchange. Also bring a sample of rthe water from your tank,in a separate container, about 4 ounces. Good luck!

There could be a number of reasons.

Has your tank been cycled? http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/biolog...

If not, this could be the start of your problem.

From where did you purchase them? If it was from Walmart, take the dead fish back and find a new store to buy them from.

Fish die for a number of reasons, and not all can be explained. If the water quality tests are reading normal, you floated the fish properly, your fish should have been fine.

Start with the water quality, test it or have it tested. be care where you purchase your fish.

Praise God!! Guppies breed like CRAZY. Unless you were planning on having a thousand plus guppies for bate, then don't worry.
Just get some black mollies or a betta fish. These are better fish to have.
I am sorry for your loss, but guppies arent that great to have. I was given 6 when I was little and in a years time we had to buy another fish tank because they wouldnt stop breeding. We ended up with over 500 guppies.
