I started with the company in 2004 and about two years later I was fired because I had a conflict with my supervisor at the time. About 7 months later the owner of the company called my and asked me to come back to work for him and offered me more money and promised that I would not have any type of contact with that person. I now answer directly to him. She and I have very limited contact since our responsibilities with the company have nothing to do with each other. Anyway a few days ago I was having a conversation with one of my friends that is no longer employed here because she moved, well she is coming back and asked me if I thought that the company would take her back since she left in good terms…well needless to say she listen to my conversation and asked my boss if he was thinking on hiring her back, well he came back to me and asked me to be very careful on the phone because I had put him in a difficult situation…whatever that means. Now today a friend forward me a voice mail that one of our clients had left her complaining about our secretary, all he did was yell and said that she was a retard and he hung up the phone…so my friend forwarded it to me because it was funny…well she listened to my voice mail and confronted my friend regarding the message and asked her to never do that again because we are a family and we do not make fun of each other…whatever. So here is my questions, we all know that all the conversations are recorded in the company, but is it ok for her to listen to private voice mails and private conversations that have nothing to do with work?
