Thank you for all the time and effort you invest in my son/daughter (insert correct person).
Add a gift card that has nothing to do w/teaching-make it for a manicure or to a shop that sells lotions/bath stuff. In other words, give her the gift of a break from teaching!

Write something that you and your child sincerely feel about the teacher. Don't take the words from somebody else; take it from your heart. Homemade gifts or cards are always appreciated too because they show the effort the student put into it and it shows the appreciation. If you want to put a small gift in the card, I would say a gift certificate to a parent-teacher store or a book store. But honestly, it's more about what you write that counts!

I am going to be a teacher and I would appreciate a gift card to a book store or a teacher supply store. Or even Walmart. I know that teachers spend a lot of their own money on their classrooms so I would really appreciate a gift card to somewhere like that.

In England we sadly don't have teacher appreciation week, but a card I love to get at the end of the academic year is one that simply says I have made a difference and that the pupil will go away with happy memories.

Maybe a gift card to a book store? That way she can get a nice book either for herself OR for the classroom.

A gift card for a school supply shop.
Teachers often have to pay for some supplies out of pocket.
The card will help defray those costs.

If it's a really nice and caring teacher, I would say "Thank you for believing in me enough to always encourage me"

I would put on how the teacher is caring. Understanding and helpful. How pleasant it is to be in her/his class.
