If you are able to, then yes you should shovel. Or pay some kid to shovel for you. Keep in mind if there is a sidewalk that goes by your house even tho the city or town owns it, it is the responsibility of the home owner to clear the side walks. Also if someone comes onto your property and they slip and fall, there is always some dewey, cheatem, and how law firm looking for work.
