I used to have a number of gay friends and acquaintances. One "friend" tried to rape me, another "friend" smashed the bones in my left hand, and aanother "friend" kicked me so hard in the chest that he cracked several ribs when I (engaged at the time to be married) would not go out with him. Oh and lets not forget the two gay acquaintances who came to the store where I worked and came very close to getting me fired when they propositioned myself and the store manager.

With no disrespect I must ammend that it appears most anti-gay or antongonist of the homosexual community comes from "closet" homosexuals. I just figure this because every politician that gets shoved out of the closet seems to have voted for a ban on gay marriage and often they have been the hardest critics of said community.

I think it's fear of the unknown and fear by the straight guys that they'll be hit on by the gay guys.

They are so afraid of being labelled gay themselves that they think by verbalizing how much they hate them that others will then "know" they are not.

because our society dictates that acceptance of gays is gay itself. men feel that if they don't reject gays they stand the risk of being called gay themself
