Adding on a room?

Ok we are going to be adding on a room to my grandmotherd mobile home. She wants it too come from the inside of another room, but cut out the window to make it a walk way. What do you think? Will this work. And also how would we go about starting and laying the floor. My husband is going to be doing this but I think we need some more ideas.. Thanks

Yes it will work you need to make a solid foundation for the addition. you can make this by building a frame much as when you build a stick home you need concrete under the frame work. You can not just build on the ground as eventually it will rot out.
Or you can build it on a post system but you still need concrete slabs to maintain it. Good luck, When my Husband and I went to build our garage I too figured we needed more ideas so I went and bought a book on how to, Guess what he told me to do with the book, yup that's right file 13.

Buy a suitable size storage unit and modify it to butt up against the existing home. Then you can do up the interior to suit her wants and needs. Insulate the walls, cut in windows and a door, etc.

The reason for that is economics. Mobile homes devaluate each year and the chance of getting your investment back is nill.

Is she still married? I'm 73. Can I date her? LOL

if your husband is just so so with the home improvement feild your in for a rude awakening this ids not a do it yourselfer perhaps hire someone for framing than finish yourself
