I volunteered one at a food place on Thanksgiving and served them a hot meal. The food was pretty good and most of them were very grateful. It's better to do it with a service because there is a high percentage of mental illiness in the homeless, they told me it often exceeds 50%. So be careful.

When I first got sober in the rooms of AA I felt empowered to do things for others. So what I did was start helping the homeless in small ways. I started carrying can food with lids that come off easily and flyers about local missions and services for the homeless. So when I saw a homeless person I gave them some food and the literature. What I found was that they already knew about the literature and what was offered out there for them as services go. But the food helped. And I still do that. I will give a homeless person food because it's my responsibility to help but I won't give them money because I don't trust what they may do with the money. Judgement goes out the window when you are feeling down and have addiction problems.

Well, I always wanted to house a homeless person because once there're all clean and dressed well, I think they would really open up and then you can see what kind of person they are. Then you can help them find a job and once they start making some mula, pop on a small rent or something. Nut you really got to trust the homeless b@stard to do something like this. Yeah.

I went up today to three homeless people and I spoke to them with respect and gave them dignity and did not look down on them. I was careful to check to see if they were high etc. but I am good at reading body language. I asked if I could get them some food. That way they have a choice of what they eat. I asked if they need toiletries like toothbrushes etc and I went to the nearby CVS and got them some things. Just remember...this could be you or someone you love! Be Christlike and do as Jesus Christ would do...

get them into drug rehab. Yes they are available everywhere.
Those people don't bother me. It is the women on the street with children that bothers me.
If you are concerned as many people are, because some are brain damaged from the drugs. Carry sandwitches. One lady had a huge carriage bag and filled it with sandwitches before she left home in neat little sandwitch bags. when they asked for money or looked pitiful and just sat there she walked up and handed them a sandwitch or two of them. Some peanut butter and jelly or balona what ever she had.

i'd say provide $50 to each and each charity and $10 to ten undesirable or homeless human beings. would I say i'm hoping God components plenty advantages for being such an unselfish man or woman. i do no longer comprehend how previous you're, yet am guessing you're an adolescent given which you acquire money on your birthday. how a lot of human beings would be prepared to grant all of it to help the needy. God bless.

Soup Kitchens are in need. You could start out volunteering. If after volunteering, you find this service the soup kitchen is helpful to the homeless, you could then give cash donations on a weekly, or monthly basis.

Most cities have soup kitchens. Do some community work there (I do and it's quite a good feeling)! And you should think about old helpless people before giving money to drunk homeless people.

It is hard because some want help and them some don't. What we do is give our old clothes that are in good condition to outreach centers that work on rehabiliting homeless people that want to turn their lives around.

Somehow get them a job. That way, if they really don't want to be homeless or poor anymore, and not spend their money on drugs or alchohol, they'll work and support themselves to build the life the want.
