I've been on YA for ages - how come it's only recently people have started e-mailing me?

Not that I mind. It's just funny. I heard from one person (with whom I'm now quite good friends) ages ago, then nothing for months, now several people have messaged me all at once. Have I recently become more funny, or more profound?
