Considering all top Premiership teams ('cept perhaps Manu) are in the hands of foreigners (Managers AND players alike), can anyone be seriously downhearted at the poor quality of our National pride when there are such reduced numbers to pick from? Remember that across- the-channel clown, Wenger, last year when he fielded nothing BUT an entire foreign Arsenal side for a Premiership match? How proud we are to be watching British soccer!!
If you let professional fools like the FA run this farcical "British" tournament, then one should also be prepared for the knock-on effect. How about getting rid of the plentiful, old, rotten wood in the FA for a change - the sublime idiots who, like refs, seem never to be held accountable for decadence.

mate I would have to disagree with u there! on paper we have one of the best sides in the world. Are u sayin that the premiership would be better without the likes of Henry and ronaldo etc.

We do have an abundance of english players in the premiership playing against the best in the world week in week out.

England have the talent, whats stopping them from going on to achieve bigger and brighter things is poor management and lack of passion for their country!

When we did win the world cup, many players in the old first division were from outside of England, whilst not from the continent, there were many scots, Welsh, Irish (both Northern and Eire) playing in the English league.
Think about some of the greats of that time, Law (Scot) Blanchflower (Irish) Best (Irish) Charles (Welsh), plus numerous others.
Dating back to the 1880's Preston won the 'double' with a largly Scottish bred team. Liverpool did in the late 1980's with a lack of Englishmen
There have always been forigners in the game, they add to the league, but an average player from abroad will attract more criticsm than one born in England

Cant see why you make an exception for MU, they are as guilty as most other premiership teams.

Also, the FA is in control of English football, not British football...but you have a point. For every Essien, Henry, or Christiano Ronaldo there are at least three very ordinary foreign players clogging up every Premiership side simply because they were cheap.

Blimey Mate, someone has rattled your cage.
When will we realise that we are not the good team we think we are.We lost to Northern Ireland for heavens sake. Only got one star on our shirts and I cant see us adding to that.
