Theres a supplement called Ferrograd C, its an iron supplement with added vitamin C in it. Also, yucky as it sounds,(lambs) liver is full of iron, just boiled and eaten as a meal w/ fries or mashed potatoes. Leafy green vegetables such as spinach and broccolli are also full of iron.
You could try the liquid supplement Floradix, which has the same amount of iron as any other supplement (tablet or liquid) but just tastes worse! In my opinion, stick with the tablets, improve your diet and if still the same with no improvement go to your doctor asking for a blood test to determine your Hemoglobin level. Less than 12 is poor, less than 10 is bad and less than 8 can mean you need a blood transfusion.
Happy to help

Unless you have iron deficiency anaemia, you shouldn't use iron supplements, or unless our doctor has prescribed them for you. The reason is that iron can be stored up in the body and you can have too much which can make you very unwell. You CAN overdose on iron.
If you are feeling run down there may be a whole number of reasons, eg. thyroid etc. Get a blood test done so you get the right treatment that will work for you.
Hope that helps

Total cereal is a good source of iron, as well as other nutrients. I was advised to eat it in addition to taking an iron supplement when I was pregnant and my iron was low. Please beware, too much iron is hazardous. If you aren't already, you should be advised by a doctor. But even they make mistakes. If you start having any sudden pains (in your stomach or side area) while taking additional iron, immediately cut back.

All the iron supplements you buy over the counter have the same amount of iron in them, regardless of brand.
If you have a medical problem then speak to your doc who can presecribe you something stronger
