Why is it wrong to make First Person Shooter games based off of the Columbine Shooting, but ok to make it off of World War 1 or 2?
isn't that just as bad?

so it's bad to re-enact a bad country situation..
but then why do they let you play as a terrorist in some games?

I figure it's mostly based on the logic that things you were alive for are worse than things that happened when you were too young to remember/before you were born.
Which is incredibly stupid logic, but deep down, I think that's the rationale.

You're missing an important point. That gaudy +3.4 is the differential between Dirks performance in elimination games, and his performance in playoff games as a whole. So while Dirk may be awesome in elimination games, that huge differential also means that his OVERALL playoff performance isn't so great. The actual measure of performance in elimination games is the "GmSc" number, where Dirk is number 2, tied with Jordan. Which isn't bad, until you see that the absolute best performer in elimination games is... Charles Barkley! Yeah, the guy with no rings. Perhaps performing well in elimination games isn't the most important factor in determining a players greatness. Jordan is second, but he actually has a negative differential, which means that as great as Jordan was in elimination games, he was even better in just "ordinary" playoff games. That's why Jordan only saw 3 elimination games from '91 to '98. He and the Bulls took care of their business early, they were rarely pushed to the brink I'm also slightly curious about why they just decided to include each players "prime" years, and just how they determined those years. According to them Barkley only had a prime of 5 years (91-96), while Shaq was in his prime for 11 (94-05). Kobe is apparently past his prime, since they didn't include the '11 season for him. What if he comes back next year and averages 28 points a game and the Lakers win another ring? I'd like to see those numbers reflect every playoff and elimination game a player has appeared in, not just cherry picking what they think are the prime years.

Because making a game based on the Columbine shooting would appear to glorify the actions of the two killers there. It would be kind of like making a flight simulator where the goal was to crash into the world trade center. Glorifying a real world crime by using it as the basis for a video game is sickening.
WW1 and WW2, by comparison were wars that our country fought to preserve freedom in Europe. Glorifying the brave men and women who fought and died in those wars is not in bad taste.

I think its a timing thing.... there are people out there right now who are still grieving for lost loved ones from the Columbine shootings.... I think everyone is pretty much over World War II by now. Also there is a moral difference between glorifying acts of war as opposed to glorifying senseless acts of criminal violence.

Because that is something that affected the country emotionally and physically. It affected our youth. Why would anyone want to make a game about a murderous, crazed teenager(s)? That would just be wrong and indecent of the person morally to use people's grief in that way. WW 1 and 2 are about freedom and the bravery of the people who gave their lives to this country, not murdering innocent people.

Because video game designers have to put there games a moral standerds. Besides they don't exactly teach about the Columbine shooting in history books in the schools today.
